blogosphere

First things first. New layout, hopefully better. I added a feature to IlohaMail to publish bookmarks in human readable and JavaScript, which can then be dynamically loaded in a blog, as you see in this blog.

IlohaMail’s news reader now supports podcasts. I actually listened to a podcast for the first time (a bunch of blogosphere bigwigs talking about blogging in a Starbucks), and I must say, I don’t think it’s all that exciting. It’s cool, but I don’t have enough idle time (or attention span) to sit and listen to people casually chat (I’d much rather skim/read blog posts).

As you can see from the rather large blogroll on the side, I’ve started paying attention to chatter in blogosphere. The last time I really paid much attention was early 2003 when I was working on BlogMatcher, and I was somewhat surprised to find that people are still talking about blogging. I guess I would’ve predicted that 2 years would be enough for it to become mainstream, and technologists would move on to something new and cool, but guess not. On the other hand, it seems like lots of new companies/services have popped up since then…

IlohaBlog now theoretically supports Technorati tags. I say “theoretically” because a tag in the test blog didn’t show up, but as far as I know, I’m doing everything right. We’ll see…

Finally, on the radar: Attention.xml. I think we’ll be hearing more of it in coming months.
